- AI-generated lessons and quizzes, which are packaged as real SCORM rather than a bespoke format
What gets tracked
A standards-compliant package reports far more than "opened". ZillionLMS stores completion status, score, time spent and last position, so a learner returns to where they stopped rather than starting again.
- Completion and pass/fail as reported by the package itself
- Score against the pass mark you set per course
- Time spent, per learner and per attempt
- Resume position, so long courses survive being closed
- Per-module progress on multi-module courses, with later modules locked until earlier ones pass
Why the standard matters more than the platform
The reason to insist on SCORM is not the format. It is that content authored to a standard can leave. If a vendor can only play courses in their own proprietary wrapper, changing vendor means rebuilding your library — which is precisely why some platforms make it easy to import and hard to export.
Every content standard is included on every ZillionLMS plan, including the entry plan. Putting portability behind an upgrade would make it a lever against you.
Common questions
Will my Articulate Storyline course work?
Yes. Storyline exports SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, xAPI and cmi5, and all four are supported. Publish to whichever you already use and upload the zip.
Do I need to unzip the package first?
No. Upload the published zip as it comes out of your authoring tool. The manifest is read and the entry point resolved automatically.
What about courses with a quiz and a pass mark?
The score the package reports is stored against the learner, and checked against the pass mark set on the course. A failed attempt does not unlock the next module, and the learner can retake it.
Can learners take courses on a phone?
That depends on the package, not the LMS. A responsive course authored for mobile plays on mobile. The surrounding LMS — catalogue, progress, certificates — is responsive throughout.
Is there a limit on how many courses I can upload?
No. Every plan includes unlimited courses; plans differ by learner count and storage, not by library size.
